Training Description
The purpose of this virtual live training is to assist SAPC providers with increasing their knowledge and understanding of the unique characteristics and clinical needs of people experiencing homelessness. The training will begin with a focus on defining homelessness as well as identifying the current statistics related to homelessness in Los Angeles County. Discussing the unique needs and considerations of those experiencing homelessness will support participants with assessment and substance use treatment considerations. This training will also describe the key elements and steps needed to provide linkage and personcentered care for those experiencing homelessness. Participants will be provided with several resources specific to those experiencing homelessness, including the development of a housing plan, that can be used to engage and provide further assistance to patients. Participants will be actively engaged throughout the presentation using the chat, polling,
and open discussion.

Please visit LA County Department of Public Health – Substance Abuse Prevention and Control – SAPC Trainings if you would like to signup for the second training entitled “Substance Use Recovery Oriented Housing: Assisting Our Neighbors Experiencing Homelessness.”
