Help Us Rebuild After the Altadena Fires
During this challenging time, as we work to rebuild our Art House and Start House facilities, we are asking for
financial donations from the community to help restore these critical spaces once they are rebuilt.
Your support is vital to ensuring we can continue to meet the needs of our community. Help us meet the goal of raising
$75,000 so we can continue with our critical healthy living services.
Your generous contributions will directly support the purchase of essential items such as:
- Beds and Mattresses – Ensuring our patients have a safe and comfortable place to rest.
- Kitchen Equipment – Rebuilding fully functional kitchens to provide daily meals.
- Furniture & Appliances – Including refrigerators, tables, chairs, and air-conditioning units to create a livable environment.
- Security Systems & Technology – CCTV cameras, access controls, computers, and networking equipment to maintain a secure and connected space.
While we are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support in donated clothing and hygiene products, our greatest need at this time is
financial assistance to help us rebuild.
Every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for standing with us in this time of need.

Impact Of Eaton Fire On L.A. CADA And Our Patients
We want to inform our friends and supporters about the significant impact the recent Eaton Fire has had on our
operations in Los Angeles County. The fire, exacerbated by strong winds, created an emergency situation
affecting many in our community, including several of our facilities.
Evacuations
On the evening of
Tuesday, January 7, between
7:00 pm and 8:00 pm, we evacuated:
- 15 patients from Serenity House in Altadena due to a fire on the adjacent block.
- 25 patients from Art House in Altadena for the same reason.
- 15 patients from Start House in Altadena because a fallen tree caused major structural damage.
- 9 patients from Heart House, following a mandatory evacuation order from the City of Pasadena.
Our foremost concern during these evacuations has been the wellbeing of our patients, our neighbors, our dedicated staff,
and the broader community affected by the Eaton Fire.
Evacuation Plan Implementation
Our team acted swiftly, implementing our evacuation plan and directing all patients and on-duty staff to gather at a centrally located CVS parking lot on Lake Avenue in Pasadena. From there, a caravan of vans transported everyone to our Emergency Housing Facility in Santa Fe Springs (the former home of the Allen House Program).
Current Status
We are relieved to report that all patients are safe and accounted for. Our staff remains on-site, providing supervision and ensuring that patients continue to receive the care and treatment they need despite the challenging circumstances.
How You Can Help
We are currently in need of finantial donations to help support our patients and staff who have been displaced by the fire.
