Training Description

The California Department of Health Care Services has launched California Advancing and Innovating
Medi-Cal (CalAIM) to bring significant transformation to improve quality of life and healthcare
outcomes for Medi-Cal members. Documentation reform, including changes to clinical documentation
requirements effective on July 1st, 2022, are part of these CalAIM efforts.

The purpose of this live virtual training is to assist SAPC network providers in streamlining the clinical
documentation of patients’ treatment journeys in accordance with the new CalAIM requirements.
During this training participants will learn how to incorporate the seven (7) required components into
progress notes including information from assessments and Problem Lists. Clinical case examples will
be used throughout the training to help providers practice documentation that is consistent with
county, state, and federal regulations as well as best practices. Participants will also learn how to
implement at least two (2) effective time management strategies to improve timelines of
documentation. Time will be provided throughout the training for polls, group discussion and
opportunities for practice activities
